  • Summary: This article talks about how the Florida Keys is still feeling the effects of lasts year mega hurricane "Irma." While most of the physical problems, for example debris and leaking/missing roofs, have been solved business as a whole did not return to its usual high numbers. 
  • Problem:  Many businesses that closed down during hurricane Irma last year did not reopen for business after the storm passed. The stores and restaurants that did reopen are experiencing a lack of visitors and are having to close the business and rent out their locations. 
  • Who has the problem?: In this situation the ones experiencing this the worse are business owners and investors who are having to sell or close their stores/restaurants losing money. The damage done by the hurricane is also felt deeply by the people who lost their jobs because of owners having to close down their businesses.

  • Summary: The city of Miami is looking for ways to make more money for the city. One solution they found was to raise the public parking around areas that are highly visited. As well as raising the parking payments the city is also doubling the amount of officers going around and checking meters making sure that people are on top of their payments.
  • Problem: Miami citizens will have to pay outrageous amounts of money, up to $3.75, whenever they decide to visit these fun locations or if they live in these parts of Miami as well.

  • Summary: This article talks about how riding bike in Miami is nearly impossible due to infrastructure and the attitudes of people towards bikes. 
  • Problem: Bikers in Miami have a hard time getting around the city safely because of lack of bike lanes. Another issue seen in Miami is with the rentable public bikes. There have been many times when these public bikes have been stolen and found in other cities around Florida, or have been disassembled for their parts and the remains have been found in the ocean.
  • Who has the problem?: Bikers in Miami have this problem as well as the bike companies that are in charge of the public bike stations.
